Finding my voice

I’ve never thought that I would portray myself in my illustrations, but… I’m not only doing that now, but what’s more important, I’m enjoying doing it !!!Sometimes I talk about disappointment (as in the illustration above) other times about the need for coffee in the mornings (see illustration below)So the subject is me and I’m finding easier than expected to share a little bit of myself with the world. My overall aim is to talk about experiences we all have in common and to illustrate them in my own way.

Wish me luck!

Illustration Friday: Fear

What do you think when you hear the word fear? I think of dark woods, of children horror stories, of urban legends and of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies…

For the week of September 14th, the prompt from IF is fear.

I love the way Kim Novak’s expression really reflects the character’s mental state. You can tell she’s really afraid of something out there…

The captain of my soul

It’s the weekend and my creative juices are flowing. My head is full of projects, of ideas, of things I want to do and create.

Someone told me last year that he saw his life as a bus and himself as the driver.

So true. We are all at the helm of our lives. It is up to us to make our dreams come true.

I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul. – William Ernest Henley

To Pluto and back

Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand, in other words, baby, kiss me

Frank Sinatra

How far would you go for someone you cared for? Today, I would go to Pluto and back.
It´s not Spring time, it´s more like back-to-work time… and yet… I am hopeful.

Illustration Friday: anonymous

Illustration Friday is a website and a collaborative effort, where illustrators submit their creations for a weekly topic.

  • The rules are: you do your illustration, you post it on your blog, then you submit it to the website.
  • Topics are published each Friday and you’ve got until the following Thursday to upload your creation.

The most recent prompt is: anonymous.

    Here’s my take on it.
