Illustration Friday: Vote

This weeks´s Illustration Friday´s prompt is VOTE. Considering that mid-term elections will take place on Tuesday November 6th in USA, the prompt is quite curren. Here are my images for this prompt:

The first one shows a business women demanding to vote. Ink and watercolour.

The second one I came up with reminds me of those old Russian Propaganda posters. Like the one below:

And here’s my own voting propaganda targeting women.

Illustration Friday: Magical

This week´s prompt for Illustration Friday is Magical.                                                                When I think of the word magical, I think of magicians, of fairy tales and of impossible things that suddenly become a reality. In the end, instead of concentrating on a magician and his act, I chose two characters from one of my favorite Shakespeare´s plays: Nick Bottom and Titania, Queen of the fairies from Midsummer´s Night Dream.

The whole story takes place during one night where mistaken identities, broken hearts and wounded egos abound. To get even with Titania, her partner the King Oberon casts an spell on her and she falls madly in love with a poor weaver who has been turned into a donkey because of his conceit and big ego.

This is a picture from a 1999 American film.

This is my take on the characters:

I was thinking of a 1920´s flapper mood. What do you think? Water color and ink sketch.

Illustration Friday: Queen

Here’s my illustration for this week’s Illustration Friday. The prompt was Queen. I thought about all sorts of queens: from Queen Elizabeth the 1st and the 2nd to the Queen of Fairies and even Dancing Queen, the song by ABBA. I settled on The Queen of Hearts from a deck of cards.
